The Masimo Root is a multimodal patient monitoring platform engineered for use across the continuum of care in hospital environments. It integrates seamlessly with the Radical-7® handheld and Radius-7® patient-worn monitors, delivering Masimo's breakthrough SET® pulse oximetry and rainbow® measurements alongside built-in noninvasive blood pressure and temperature monitoring.

Root's high-visibility display features intuitive multi-touch navigation, enabling fast clinical interpretation and adaptable configuration at the point of care. Its architecture is built around the Masimo Open Connect® (MOC-9®) platform, supporting flexible third-party and first-party measurement expansion without replacing the base unit.

Early Warning Scores and EMR Integration

Root automates the calculation of Early Warning Scores (EWS), reducing manual documentation burden and supporting faster clinical escalation decisions. When paired with Masimo Patient SafetyNet™ version 5.0.0.0 or higher, clinicians can document vital signs data, whether measured from supported devices or manually entered, directly into the patient's Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Automated charting is also supported via Masimo Iris® Gateway, enabling hospital-wide data flow into existing EMR infrastructure. Alerts and alarms are communicated wirelessly through Masimo Patient SafetyNet for remote clinician notification across the facility.

Capnography and Measurement Modularity

Root supports ISA™ CO2 capnography for sidestream monitoring, featuring NomoLine® technology for cost-effective single-use consumables. The MOC-9® slot architecture is designed to enable continuous expansion of measurement modalities, allowing the platform to evolve with clinical needs without full device replacement.

Warranty

• Masimo warrants that; (i) it will perform the services using qualified personnel in accordance with industry standards and (ii) any repair or replacement provided under the services will be free from material defects in materials and workmanship.
  The duration of this warranty shall be 90 days from the date of performance, repair, or replacement.
  
• Masimo’s obligation if OOW Device is found by Masimo to be defective during the warranty period shall be limited to repair or replacement.
  
• This warranty does not apply or extend to any OOW Device (a) damaged, neglected, misused or improperly operated, (b) modified, disassembled, or reassembled, (c) used with supplies, devices or electrical work external to the OOW Device, (d) where the software has been damaged, modified by anyone other than Masimo or without the express written authorization of Masimo, or (e) used contrary to Masimo’s instructions.
