The EVAC+CHAIR® 500H is a high-performance, bariatric-rated emergency stair chair engineered for the safe, controlled evacuation of mobility-impaired individuals from multi-story buildings or confined spaces during emergencies (fire, power outage, natural disaster, etc.) where elevators cannot be used. Designed in the United States and built on the proven EVAC+CHAIR platform, the 500H model supports up to 500 lbs (227 kg), making it ideal for hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, large office buildings, and other locations with higher patient/passenger weight requirements.
This single- or two-person operation chair features the advanced Evac+Track™ friction-controlled braking system for smooth, self-regulating descent on stairs between 28°–45°, fold-away grip handle/footrest for added stability in two-person mode, dual-position seat, 4-point quick-release safety belts (including foot belt), and ergonomic design elements for both passenger comfort and operator ease. It folds compactly for storage and is wall-mountable for rapid deployment in designated evacuation zones.
