Three Storage Problems That General-Purpose Refrigeration Does Not Solve
96 units across three specialty categories: breast milk refrigerators and freezers, controlled room temperature (CRT) cabinets holding +20C to +25C, and portable coolers that keep vaccines and specimens in range while moving. Brands include Accucold, American Biotech Supply, Roemer Industries and Centurion Scientific.
Note the range: one of these three categories does not refrigerate at all. CRT cabinets heat as well as cool, because their job is to stop a room from drifting out of the +20C to +25C window that drug labels call controlled room temperature.

| Portable & Transport Coolers | +2C to +8C on battery or 12V | Mobile clinics, home health visits, specimen courier runs |
CRT Cabinet or Regular Storage Shelf?
If a product label says store at controlled room temperature, an open shelf only complies while the building does. Summer afternoons, a closed pharmacy over a long weekend, a stockroom next to a mechanical wall: all of these push past +25C without anyone noticing. A CRT cabinet holds the window actively and logs it, which is what an inspector asks to see. Accucold and ABS build these in 10.5 and 23 cu ft uprights with glass or solid doors. Putting the same product in a refrigerator is not a safe fallback: too cold is also an excursion.
Which Portable Cooler for Which Trip?
Runtime and volume pull against each other. For a single home visit or a short courier run, a compact 8 to 15 litre battery unit is enough. For a mobile vaccination day you need 60 to 100 litres and the ability to run on AC at the site and battery in transit. Specimen transport has a different requirement again: rigid, validated kits rather than a cooling compartment. All three sit in Portable & Transport Coolers.
Is a CRT cabinet a refrigerator?
No, and buying it as one leads to a return. A CRT cabinet maintains +20C to +25C using both heating and cooling. It is for products whose labels forbid refrigeration but also forbid an uncontrolled room. If you need +2C to +8C, you want Medical & Pharmacy Refrigeration instead.
What size breast milk refrigerator does a NICU need?
It tracks census and storage policy more than anything else. Single-family lactation rooms are usually served by a compact 1 to 3 cu ft unit, while a NICU holding frozen stock for multiple infants typically needs a dedicated upright plus a separate -20C freezer. Do these units come with temperature monitoring?
Most include an onboard digital display and alarm. Continuous logging for audit purposes is usually a separate device, and that is what inspectors ask for. Data loggers and probes are in Temperature Data Loggers.
