Floor-Mounted, Platform-Mounted or Folding?
Floor-mounted bars like the Bailey 510 series and Clinton 4-012 are the most rigid, but they are anchored into the floor, which is a problem in leased space. Platform-mounted bars such as the Clinton 3-2007 and Bailey 540 series sit on their own base and can move with you. If the room does double duty, wall-mounted folding bars like the Bailey 595 or Clinton 3-3307 fold away between sessions.
What Length Do You Need?
Ten feet is the working standard and fits most gait sessions. Go to 12 ft or longer when you want more steps per pass: the Clinton 12 ft and the 510 series, which runs to 24 ft. In a tight room, the 7 ft platform versions or the Bailey 95-10 space saver keep the footprint down. Measure the clear walking lane plus room at each end to turn.
Which Stander for Which Child?
Prone, supine or multi-position is the therapist's call. Once that is decided, the choice gets simpler. The R82 Caribou covers both prone and supine and grows to 220 lb. The Gazelle PS folds for transport between home and school. The Meerkat is the simpler option, and the Rabbit Up lets the child move while standing.
Which parallel bars suit bariatric patients?
The Bailey 4530 is rated to 500 lb over a 10 ft length, and a second 10 ft bariatric model is also available. Standard bars are not built for that load, so specify bariatric from the start if your caseload calls for it.
Can I install parallel bars without anchoring to the floor?
Yes. Platform-mounted bars stand on their own base, and wall-mounted folding bars attach to a wall instead of the floor. Both work in leased clinics where floor drilling is not allowed.
Do you carry parallel bars sized for children?
Yes. The Bailey 596 is built for toddlers up to 40 lb, and the 597 and 598 series come in child and adult versions. For a standing activity surface, the Bailey 314 child standing table supports up to 150 lb.
What is the difference between a standing table and a stander?
A standing table like the Bailey 315 gives an adjustable work surface for activities while standing, with support at the hips and knees. A stander such as the R82 models controls body position more precisely, including prone and supine angles. The choice follows the therapy goal.
Can I get pricing on a full PT gym setup?
Yes. Clinics outfitting a gym with bars, stairs and standing equipment together can request a quote for the package. Include room dimensions and we will help check fit.
