The UPWalker Original is the full-size frame in Journey's upright walker line and the one Journey rates primarily for outdoor use. The user stands inside the frame with the forearms resting on padded, height-adjustable supports at roughly shoulder height, rather than gripping handles out in front. Body weight sits centrally over the wheelbase, which is what Journey's patented Balanced Center of Gravity design refers to, and it resists the forward tipping that comes from leaning on a conventional rollator.

The practical effect is posture. The spine stays extended, the head stays up, and the wrists carry very little load. Cushioned sit-to-stand handles give the user something to push against when rising, so the transfer does not depend on furniture or a caregiver. A padded seat with a backrest, lockable hand brakes, 8 inch multi-terrain wheels front and rear, a drink holder and a personal bag come as standard, and the frame folds without tools for a car trunk.

Two frame sizes, and the choice is not optional. The Standard frame fits users 4'7" to 5'10" and is rated to 300 lbs. The Large frame fits users 4'10" to 6'5", is rated to 350 lbs, and has a wider frame with a larger seat. A walker outside its stated height range cannot be adjusted into a safe fit, so measure before ordering.
