LW Scientific CTL-REFM Handheld Optical Refractometer with Automatic Temperature Compensation from 10 to 30°C, Adjustable Focus Eyepiece and Calibration Screw

The LW Scientific Refractometer is a handheld optical instrument for reading fluid concentration from a small sample. The sample goes on the prism under the hinged cover plate, and the reading is taken where the light and dark fields meet on the internal scale.

Two scales are available. The Specific Gravity / Protein model reads urine specific gravity and total serum protein, and the Brix model reads sugar content from 0 to 32 percent. Built-in automatic temperature compensation covers 10 to 30°C (50 to 86°F), and the zero point is set with distilled water using the calibration screw. Per LW Scientific, the Specific Gravity / Protein model is for veterinary, educational and research use only.
