The VWR Basic Chromatography Glass Door Refrigerator (Catalog No: 10791-614 / Model: GDM-23-HC-LD VWR WHT CHROMO 1P1D), manufactured by True Refrigeration, is specifically designed for sensitive chromatography applications, research labs, and clinical environments. Built for durability and hygiene, the cabinet exterior is constructed with non-peel, non-chip white laminated vinyl, while the interior features an NSF-approved white aluminum liner paired with a heavy-duty stainless steel floor. The structure is insulated using foamed-in-place Ecomate, a high-density polyurethane insulation with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and zero Global Warming Potential (GWP). A black powder-coated steel frame rail with built-in levelers ensures high stability and long-term corrosion protection.
The unit is equipped with a "Low-E" double-pane thermal insulated glass door framed in extruded aluminum, providing maximum energy efficiency while protecting against ambient temperature heat transfer. The door features a positive seal, self-closing torsion closure system, an integrated 12" handle, and a tool-free removable magnetic door gasket. Safety-shielded LED interior lighting provides clear, even illumination throughout the cabinet interior.
Tailored for laboratory and chromatography setups, this configuration (full shelf version) comes standard with one factory-installed access port for instrumentation wires/tubing, as well as an internal grounded duplex electrical outlet with cover. The interior includes four adjustable, heavy-duty PVC-coated wire shelves supported by interior pilasters adjustable in 1/2" increments. A convenient clean-out drain is built directly into the cabinet floor for easy maintenance.
Thermal performance is driven by an eco-friendly, self-contained capillary tube refrigeration system using natural R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant (0 ODP, 3 GWP). Driven by a 1/3 HP compressor mounted at the bottom of the cabinet, the system maintains a stable operating temperature range of 2°C to 8°C (35.6°F to 46.4°F) with rapid recovery. An LAE electronic controller with an exterior digital display and alarm function allows precise temperature monitoring and system alerts.
