The VWR Basic Reach-In Glass Door Refrigerator (Catalog No: 89239-070 / Model: TS-23G CHR), manufactured by True Refrigeration, is engineered for reliable, high-efficiency cold storage in demanding laboratory, clinical, and commercial environments. Built to withstand heavy use, the cabinet features higher tensile strength stainless steel on the exterior front and sides to resist dents and scratches, backed by a matching heavy-duty aluminum rear panel. The interior features a clean, hygienic stainless steel liner and floor. The entire structure is foamed-in-place using Ecomate, a high-density polyurethane insulation with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and zero global warming potential (GWP). A welded, heavy-duty steel frame rail is coated in black powder for maximum corrosion protection and is fitted with 4" (102 mm) stem castors (locking front set) for smooth mobility.

The unit is equipped with an energy-efficient "Low-E" double-pane thermal glass door framed in extruded aluminum. The door features a positive seal, self-closing mechanism with lifetime-guaranteed hinges and a torsion-type closure system, along with a 15" long extruded aluminum handle and a tool-free removable magnetic door gasket. The glass assembly keeps sample contents fully visible while insulating against ambient room heat. Physical security is ensured via standard built-in door locks.

The interior layout includes three heavy-duty, PVC-coated wire shelves supported by aluminum pilasters, fully adjustable in 1/2" increments to optimize storage space. Content visibility is enhanced by a safety-shielded, full-length Patented Integrated Door Light (IDL) system. For added functional convenience in research settings, the cabinet comes pre-equipped with an integrated 3/4" rear access port for validation probes or data loggers, as well as an internal grounded duplex electrical outlet with cover.

Thermal governance is driven by a factory-engineered, self-contained capillary tube refrigeration system using CFC-free R134a refrigerant. A bottom-mounted 1/3 HP compressor operates in the coolest, most grease-free area of the room, allowing for extra storage space on top of the cabinet and easy access for condenser coil cleaning. Coupled with a large epoxy-coated evaporator coil (corrosion protection) and sealed, cast-iron, self-lubricating fan motors, the system maintains a consistent temperature range of 3°C to 5°C (37.4°F to 41°F) with rapid temperature recovery. An exterior solar-powered digital display provides constant, clear temperature monitoring.
