Intended use:
Welch Allyn PocketScopes are hand-held, battery-powered devices that are intended to be used by trained clinicians during a patient health assessment to inspect a patient's ear, eyes, nose and throat under illumination and magnification. The Welch Allyn PocketScope Diagnostic Set is intended for use by clinicians and medically qualified personnel for pediatric and adult patients of any gender in both ambulatory and acute care settings.
The Welch Allyn Pocket Otoscope and associated accessories are intended to be used for transmitting light into the ear canal to assess the health of the ear and support diagnoses of conditions of the ear.
The Welch Allyn Pocket Ophthalmoscope is intended for viewing the fundus, supporting the diagnosis of ocular structure conditions, and viewing ocular abnormalities that may be
indicative of conditions elsewhere in the body. The device also is intended for illuminating the cornea and iris to detect foreign bodies in the cornea and irregularities of the pupil.
Features:
1. Rubber brow rest.
2. Lens selection dial – When used with multiplier lever, allows single diopter steps through 48 lens combinations (from +22 to –25 diopters).
3. Diopter display window – Displays direct reading of diopter values (positive values displayed in green; negative values displayed in red).
4. Aperture selection dial – Continuous rotation allows access to microspot, small, large, fixation, slit, and cobalt blue.
5. Two-position filter switch – Engage either open or red-free filter.
6. Lens multiplier – Allows fast movement through the range via 16 diopter shifts. When used with lens selection dial, allows single diopter steps through 48 lens combinations.
