The WalkingPad WR1 is a water rower in a rubberwood frame with a red oak finish. Resistance comes from a four-blade paddle turning in a tinted water tank, so the pull gets heavier as the stroke gets faster and the machine makes the sound of a real row rather than a motor.

Resistance is set by how much water goes in the tank, between 2.91 and 3.96 gallons, up to a maximum of 66 lb. The frame folds for storage and the machine arrives fully assembled. The display runs on two AA batteries and shows pace, time, strokes, distance and calories; no mains power is needed.
